At Lydden Surgery we support the development of our Practice Team and are enthusiastic about supporting people who wish to work in the NHS by providing a safe and supportive training environment.
We are proud to be an accredited training practice. Since July 2020 we have been able to host GP Registrars who are fully qualified doctors with a minimum of four years post qualification experience. These doctors are supervised by an approved GP Trainer (Dr. Fordham). GP Registrars are in the final stages of their professional training to become a General Practitioner.
Lydden Surgery is also approved to provide a training placement for Foundation Year 2 Doctors (FY2). Foundation Year 2 Doctors are qualified Doctors who have completed one year in a hospital placement; they are registered with the GMC and spend the second year consolidating generic skills as a doctor. FY2 doctors undertake three 4 month rotations, one of which may be General Practice.
