General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect on 25th May 2018. This strengthens the controls that organisations (data controllers) are required to have in place over the processing of personal data and includes, specifically, the sharing of that data with 3rd parties (data processors).
As a GP practice, we must be compliant with the new regulations in order to protect our patients’ data.
Telephone callers to the practice should be aware that we may record calls for training and monitoring purposes.
Below are links to all of our documents which explain how we will be achieving this and what we are doing to protect your data.

NHS Digital is developing a new system to support the national data opt-out which will give patients more control over how confidential patient information is used. The system will offer patients and the public the opportunity to make an informed choice about whether they wish their confidential patient information to be used just for their individual care and treatment or also used for research and planning purposes.
If you wish to sign up to the National Data Opt-Out Programme, you can do so here.
